Job Description

We are partnering with a UAE Federal Government Entity in the UAE to help fill the following vacancy: Database Administrator


This is a full-time position that will be directly employed by our client, not Whiteshield. Our role is solely to assist in the recruitment process--further details will be provided upon the successful shortlisting of applicants.


The Database Administrator focuses on automating database tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and performance. This role involves the optimization of database operations, integration with DevOps pipelines, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:


Design and implement automation solutions for database administration tasks, such as backups and performance monitoring.


Develop and maintain scripts to optimize database performance and generate actionable insights.


Build and maintain automation pipelines for database provisioning, schema updates, and data migration.


Ensure data integrity by automating backup and recovery processes.


Implement security protocols and conduct compliance checks through automated tools.


Document and standardize database management procedures to promote consistency.


Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD workflows.


Monitor database capacity and plan for future resource needs.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:


Significant experience in database administration with expertise in SQL, Oracle, or other database management systems.


Proficiency in database security, backup, and recovery techniques.


Expertise in database performance optimization and ETL processes.


Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Certification are preferred.


Familiarity with cloud database solutions like Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS.


Strong scripting skills for process automation using tools like Python or Bash.


Ability to design database architectures for scalability and high availability


Arabic Speaking and Emirati an advantage.
