Key Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of MySQL/SQL server software and related products.
• Evaluate MySQL/SQL features and UAE Media Council products.
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Conduct database design and implementation.
• Implement and maintain database security, including creating and maintaining users and roles and assigning privileges.
• Perform database/application tuning and performance monitoring.
• Create and maintain documentation and standards.
• Plan for growth and changes, including capacity planning.
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required.
• Perform general technical troubleshooting and provide consultation to development teams.
• Interface with MySQL/SQL Corporation for technical support.
• Manage patching and version control.
• Generate daily and monthly reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience.
• Bilingual Arabic - English speakers.
• High understanding of MySQL/SQL database, related utilities, and tools.
• Good understanding of the underlying operating system.
• High knowledge of physical database design.
• MySQL/SQL certified professional.
• Ability to perform both MySQL/SQL and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of all MySQL/SQL backup and recovery scenarios.
• Good knowledge of MySQL/SQL security management.
• Good knowledge of how MySQL/SQL acquires and manages resources.
• Good knowledge of MySQL/SQL data integrity.
• Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems.
• Experience in code migration, database change management, and data management throughout the development lifecycle.
• A sound understanding of both database and system performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, and systems administrators.
• Ability to provide a strategic database direction for UAE Media Council.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• A sound understanding of business needs.
