Database AdministratorThe candidate will be part of a software development team to deliver large scale public transportation related projects. A professional Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.Responsibilities:Install and maintain the performance of database servers.Set and maintain database standards.Performance tuning of database systems.Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitorin standards.Perform installation, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting for the database and database infrastructure.Support and perform database account management and periodic user account review.Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.Provide production database support be available for on-call support as needed.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field3 to 5 years of experience in database administration, information technology, databasearchitecture, or a related fieldExperience with Linux, Unix and Windows Server environmentsExtensive experience in MS SQL required. Experience in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle Exadatawill be added advantage.Experience in Database HA using SQL Server Failover Cluster Availability Groups.Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Experience with Database security hardening and CIS Compliance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
