Main AccountabilitiesThe Data Operation Specialist in the Digital Business & Technology Department will be responsible for supporting the Department in driving data governance and management initiatives while managing our data products and services portfolio. You will ensure adherence to governance frameworks, data quality, integrity, and accessibility, collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and leverage data for efficient business solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to regional projects. The Data Operation Specialist will play a key role in driving cultural change efforts at the regional level, as well as scaling our capabilities and industrializing our data processes.Detailed Data Governance and Management:
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of data governance frameworks, guidelines, data standards, and data architecture principles to ensure compliance, security, and data integrity.
  • Support various data department programmes along the Data Owners Community to build BU Master Data Management.
  • Oversee the data lifecycle management process, from data acquisition to archival or disposal, ensuring proper data handling and adherence to data governance policies.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization\'s data catalog and metadata management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of data assets, data lineage, and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineer and the DB&T regional team to define strategies aiming to streamline data flow and integration processes while monitoring data quality metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Document and capitalize on Architecture, pipelines, referential and lessons learned.
Data Operations Excellence:
  • Identify and address data-related issues or challenges that may impact data operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data operations, advocating for the adoption of data governance best practices.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data requirements to deliver actionable insights.
  • Support ad-hoc data analysis requests to address specific business questions.
  • Gather and integrate diverse data sets from different domains.
Data Project Management :
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide data-driven solutions, facilitating communication and knowledge-sharing regarding data governance and data management practices.
  • Assist in the execution and management of regional data projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the launch and management of the first regional data products and services portfolio, including referentials, a data catalog, and regional maintained dashboards...
  • Provide oversight for Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, championing data stewardship initiatives and driving organizational change towards a data-centric mindset.
Data Acculturation, supporting Organizational Change:
  • Support the Data Acculturation initiatives and contribute to training programs and workshops to enhance awareness and adoption of data governance practices, promoting a data-driven culture and fostering data literacy across the organization.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Regional Data Communities, including Data Owners, Legal & DPO, and Business Analysts, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. A Master\'s degree would be a plus.
  • 4-6 years of proven experience in data governance frameworks and management, with exposure to consulting or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of data flows and integration processes.
  • Knowledge of data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience in managing data products and services portfolio.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in documentation and capitalization of architecture and pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and services (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS). with familiarity with services such as BigQuery, Data Fusion, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and cultures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English is required, knowledge of Arabic and/or French would be a plus.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as data governance, GCP/AWS cloud platforms, or project management would be advantageous.
