The shortlisted individual will also be responsible to update the reporting manager about daily activities and escalate issues if any.Reporting Line:Report to: Team Lead, CustomsRole: Individual contributorDirect subordinates: NADetailed Responsibilities:

• Responsible for shipments to be cleared against original paperwork in Compliance with the customs law of Dubai
• Deposits are submitted and followed up for refund through Dubai Trade Portal
• Accurate customs clearance submission.
• Knowledge on applying MOFA/SIRA/FIRS/CPIP/COO permits.
• Monitor that exits (FZE) are followed up upon to customs with Proof of export.
• Standing Guarantee balance monitoring to ensure no delay in clearance.
• CDR account monitoring
• Ensure the team a have good filing and safe keeping process of Customs Documents in line with local regulations
• Be aware of Customs rules and regulations and any changes to be shared with Air & Sea operations and management who will ensure communication to the network.
• Update tariff according to Customs rate and fee changes, if any.
• Setting KPI\'s for the staff in the department and monitor performance:
• Ensure that workload and tasks are well organized, and deadlines are met within the team
• Provide guidance to the team and inspire them for maximum performance
• Any other relevant task assigned by management.
• Organize undertaking documents or shipping guarantees to customs authorities in case of documents shortage or delay and follow up with operations and customs to close it.
• Prioritize shipment which requires immediate clearance with customs and prepare report on shipment released and pending shipment to be cleared daily.
• Advance operational efficiencies to increase ability to process customer orders using both systems and physical improvements
• Follow up and prepare reports to evaluate the performance of inhouse clearance and report it to operations manager.
• Comply and adhere to export or import administration regulations
• Develop knowledge on customs qualifications, ensure new regulations are understood and implemented where required

Qualifications & Characteristics:

• Experience of minimum 3 years working in freight forwarding industry

• A Bachelor\'s degree is desirable

• Must be customer service oriented and result driven

• Good English communication skills

• Must have a strong knowledge of our products and services

• Excellent team player

• Good organisation skills

• Good knowledge of Customs Procedures

• Have good relations with Dubai Customs and Government Authorities
