Overall, Role Purpose The current role is responsible of the main ops functions to the customs clearance process within established standards and transit times and ensure the necessary support to all operations functions related to customs declaration prior and after customs declaration submissions, to DHL customs declarants, customs support agents, data entry when required. Below are the main duties: Through rigorous monitoring of all customs clearance declarations upon submission. A special focus on the primary KPIs mainly related to clearance lead time and BOS Index performance. Update the Clearance Status of the shipment to the Network within 30 minutes of identification when any shipments/piece is/has: released, selected for inspection, held pending clearance, Regulatory Authorization required, undervalue, disposed by the authorities and stopped or confiscated by the authorities. · Update all Shipments/Pieces rejected by Customs the same time of rejection with the appropriate status updated in the system. · Update the Standard Customs Clearance messages for held and released Shipments with correct status. · Inform the Bonded area team about the shipment release as soon as Customs Release Document is acknowledged in order to allow the bond area to prepare the shipment release for Delivery. · Perform customs inspection / visits if required by customs authority. Ensure the required work streams are completed on time and within a specified quality criteria. Use a clear and precise communication to stakeholders to ensure consistent and regulation information is reported as required. · Coordinate between other functions and customs authorities under runner's team leader supervision. · Hand over all customs release documents such as Customs Release Document and duty details Sheet for billing process. · Deal with first priority all urgent cases give appropriate to concerned parties in timely manner. Give the necessary support to customs/ backliners, frontliners Data entry agents in the field if required in terms of encouraging multiple competencies and maintain ASONE spirit.

Stakeholder External Customs officials § Liaise with customs officials on specific duties payable and problem shipments. § Comply with Customs Compliance.
Other regulatory officials (Finance, Trade and Transportation) Comply with the regulatory policy and rules to make DHL as reliable business partner. Liaise on specific issue and problem if necessary.
Internal Gateway staff at all levels Build-up the co-operative relationship with the practical levels in Gateway and provide the positive attitude /solution when necessary.
Gateway Operations & Local Country Operations staff Activate standard clearance procedure in accordance with DHL priorities and goals.
Process
Customs Clearance § Ensure the accurate preparation of import and export Customs declarations and the timely provision of those for review (as required). § Ensure that customer databases are maintained. § Resolve specific disputes or provide advice on technical issues with customers. § Maintain a thorough knowledge of Customs practices and procedures.
Customs Clerks Supervision § Contribute to team effort to ensure the attainment of both inbound and outbound shipment clearance, efficiently within clearance performance targets and transit time. Achieve the agreed KPIs. - BOS - HV Improvement % of over 48 hrs

· Incumbent has no direct reports and authority over country line and functional personnel. Nevertheless he/she must be able to demonstrate ability to influence decisions/actions through provision of value-added inputs into the organisation's business processes.
