Overview

***This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP***

Directly responsible for the day to day management of the Custodial at ten (10) locations/sites (Camp Arifjan, Camp Buehring, KNB, Ali Al Salem, APOD, SPOD, K-Crossing, Patton Airfield, Udairi (UAAF) and Udairi Range) and Laundry Services operations at two (2) ASG-KU camps (Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring) by providing oversite, direction, planning, and coordination with sub-contractor and designated Vendors for the Support of ASG-KU occupants. Ensures personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus upon a quality end product. Responsible for delegating the work to the Vectrus LOGCAP V staff, custodial, and sub-contractor laundry personnel and ensures that all the laundry equipment and any other relevant things are in proper working condition and that every employee adheres to ASG-KU Policies, Vectrus LOGCAP V Policies and Standard Practices (PS&P's), Performance Work Statement, Quality Plan, Safety Plan, and OSHA requirements and guidelines. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to reduce manpower expenditure. Verifies vendor monthly invoices against Laundry Log Sheets. Accountable for the health and safety of the employees working in the assigned Custodial and Laundry facilities. Works in a challenging and fast pace job with last minute changes that may require immediate attention, in order to satisfy the customer.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

+ Responsible for oversite and management of Custodial Services at ten (10) locations/sites and Laundry Services at two (2) camps daily.

+ Facilitates planning, coordinating, directing, and oversite of activities performed by custodial and landscaping personnel

+ Knowledge of employee's capabilities, their responsibilities for the Custodial and Laundry Services, and participate in the career development of employees, to include recognition for outstanding performance, counseling for positive and negative performance.

+ Monitor the quality of work by the staff responsible for providing custodial services related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings/facilities and linen exchange through routine inspections and customer feedback.

+ Manage the day to day cleaning to ensure all laundry shall be washed in accordance with appropriate manufacturer equipment settings and/or the references listed in the PWS regarding Laundry Services to ensure that laundry is clean, disinfected, washed, dried, ironed, delivered, and stored in a proper manner, so as to ensure excellent Customer satisfaction

+ Oversee the administrative processing and maintenance of Laundry Services documents to reflect accountability, losses, gains or applicable changes of personnel and equipment.

+ Plans, develops, and directs logistical and coordination support for daily Custodial and Laundry Services as well as coordinate with sub-contractor for accommodation of any surge population support requirements.

+ Interfaces with designated government representatives (i.e COR, ACO, ACC), Vectrus LOGCAP V Management, and other Vectrus Contractor elements to assure smooth operations and compliance with Government directives, standards and needs.

+ Develops SOP's, work instructions, and training plans that support contractual requirements

+ Regularly inspect the progress of the work at each camp and laundry facility (to include off-camp vendor laundry facilities under the sub-contractor's management) to ensure that compliance to safety and quality plans are adhered to.

+ Responds to all Quality/Safety non-compliance concerns/issues (i.e, Customer comments, ICARs, NCR's) to quickly resolve findings, identify, and implement measures to prevent further occurrences.

+ Reviews and approves bi-monthly work schedules, subordinate work assignments, timecards, and initiates overtime forecasts requests, or adjusts schedules as necessary (subject to swing shift) to assist other sections when short staffed or when mission surge occurs.

+ Responsible for property book and GFE accountability of all equipment for the Custodial and Laundry Services.

+ When opening occur in the sections, request replacements through the Vectrus Human Resources and Recruiting and conducts the interview process of potential candidates and submits selected candidates to HR Recruiting for review and approval for employment to Custodial and Laundry services.

+ Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ High School diploma plus vocational training in administrative sciences, Associate degree preferred.

+ Possess the knowledge possess knowledge of operation, maintenance, care, and repair of various laundry equipment.

+ Preferred in-depth knowledge of mixing processes, preparing solutions, sterilization methods, temperatures that needs to be maintained during various laundering

+ processes for different types of material, etc.

+ Familiarized with safety training on proper handling of linen, blood borne pathogens, and bed bugs.

+ Must possess a driver's license from country of origin for the purpose of obtaining a Military or Kuwait driver's license.

+ Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

+ Experience:

+ Minimum of two years of housekeeping/laundry experience.

+ Preferred Supervisory experience and two to three years of experience managing entry-level employees.

+ Proficient in intermediate level MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.

+ Preferred experience in maintaining and updating the records related to inventory and laundry supplies.

+ Supervisory Responsibilities:

+ Manages a section of employees at multiple camps, and a sub-contracted vendor. Will have oversite of Custodial and Laundry Supervisors/Leads. May provide

+ budgets and have signature authority.

+ Skills:

+ Must possess excellent supervisory and management skills.

+ Need to be able to delegate work to the subordinates according to the changing priorities of the USG and Customers.

+ Good organization and training skills are essential.

+ Possess good problem solving skills and should be able to maintain good relations with the USG and Customers by communicating effectively and building a rapport with them.

+ Flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills.

+ Able to recognize and quickly resolve customer issues, and work independently with little or no supervision.

+ Handle multiple tasks at any time.

+ Working Conditions:

+ Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

+ Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

+ Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Medium to Heavy Work Exerting up to 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

+ Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
