Job Description

Cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, packaging, and maintaining medical equipment and instruments to ensure a sterile environment.

You will play a crucial part in infection control by adhering to strict protocols and guidelines set by the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Sterilization of Medical Equipment:

Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves to sterilize medical instruments and devices.

Cleaning and Disinfection:

Clean and disinfect surgical instruments, tools, and other medical equipment following established infection control procedures.

Packaging and Storing:

Package sterilized instruments properly, ensuring they are stored in sterile environments, ready for use in surgeries or procedures.

Quality Control:

Perform quality checks on sterilized equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards and protocols.

Inventory Management:

Track and manage the inventory of sterilized instruments and equipment, ensuring there is an adequate stock for upcoming procedures.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and other relevant documentation as required by hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Collaboration:

Work closely with healthcare providers, surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure the availability of sterilized instruments for medical procedures.

Maintenance of Sterilization Equipment:

Regularly inspect and maintain sterilization machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition.

Adhere to Regulations:

Follow hospital policies, infection control protocols, and UAE healthcare standards to ensure the highest levels of hygiene and safety.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. CSSD operations or related fields. Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and infection control standards. Ability to handle medical instruments safely and with precision. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
