:Role: Credit Risk Assurance ManagerLocation: Abu DhabiRole Purpose:The Risk Governance and Risk Policy team is primarily responsible for supporting the GCRO on:
the end-to-end risk management and governance for Risk Committees, and other governing bodies
Policy Management and regulatory governance programmes and special projects and initiatives
providing independent oversight and assurance on the Credit Risk Management Framework
Key Accountabilities of the role:
Assist the Head of Credit Risk Review with managing the Credit Risk Review Programme which assesses the Credit Risk Management Framework, including the ongoing monitoring of the quality of the various credit portfolios and activities creating direct and indirect credit risk, assessing adherence to policies and procedures and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and evaluate results to determine if issues exist and improvement recommendation are required.
Support the development of Credit Risk Review objectives and establish a Credit Risk Review Policy and Procedure(s) to address relevant Credit Risks.
Asist with the development and execution of Credit Risk Review's annual plan, including monitoring of annual plan progress and changes.
Perform continuous monitoring of credit portfolios regarding the identification, measurement, and management of Credit Risk and document and communicate findings to senior management and the Board.
Participate in credit risk reviews to independently assess and challenge the application and sufficiency of Credit Risk Policies and Procedures.
Evaluate the credit and financial strength of borrowers to determine if internal ratings and levels of credit exposure are acceptable.
Monitor adherence to documentation, limits and risk mitigants including review of covenants and perfection of collateral.
Verify the adequacy and completeness of credit files.
Ensure exams are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
Prepare work papers, document review findings and conclusions.
Provide consultative feedback to auditees.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Credit Risk Review tools and methodologies.

Previous experience:
Minimum of 8 years of work experience in credit risk management, credit portfolio management, underwriting, or review/quality control gained at a bank, rating agency, regulatory body or consulting
Experience in diverse sectors/products including corporates, financial institutions, commercial real estate, leasing, structured finance and retail lending
Working knowledge of risk and/or credit risk management and control frameworks
Understanding of review/audit concepts within planning, fieldwork, and reporting
Ability to articulate credit review opinions including where they diverge from 1LoD
Good understanding of credit/loan documentation
UAE working experience of 2+ years
Familiarity with the CB UAE regulatory regime pertaining risk management
Proficient with Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook
