The role overview:
Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems on offshore cranes. Your expertise in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs will be essential to maintain the reliability and functionality of these critical equipment.
Main Responsibilities and Activities:
Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on offshore cranes, with a specific focus on the Safe Load Indicator (SLI) system.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities on the to ensure accurate load measurements and safe crane operations.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Diagnose electrical faults in the SLI system, analyze equipment malfunctions, and develop effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure accurate load monitoring.
Install, calibrate, and upgrade Electrical & SLI systems on offshore cranes, ensuring compatibility and adherence to specifications.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment history, repairs, and replacements performed.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on offshore installations, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide technical support as needed.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to SLI systems and offshore crane operations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
The ideal candidate will:
Essential:
A recognized apprenticeship or qualification
At least 5 years of experience in the same field
3 years in a lifting equipment environment
Experience in repair & maintenance of cranes related equipment
Experience in working to schedules.
Good Communication Skills
High standards of workmanship
Ability to work and react under pressure and tight deadlines.
Preferred:
At least vocational/technical High School Diploma Holder
Safety Training Certification
Compex certification will be advantage.
Experience in offshore service industry or similar environment
Experience in cranes & lifting equipment maintenance & repair
