Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing cost information, providing financial insights, and ensuring accurate cost accounting practices to support business operations and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Analysis and Reporting:
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and methodologies.
• Analyze costs of raw materials, labor, and overhead to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Prepare and review cost reports, including standard cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability analysis.
• Monitor and report on production costs, including materials, labor, and overheads.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Provide detailed cost projections and variance analyses to support budgetary decisions.
• Conduct cost forecasting to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
• Inventory Management:
• Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accuracy of inventory records.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures to minimize costs and losses.
• Cost Control and Optimization:
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Monitor spending trends and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
• Evaluate cost control measures and report on their effectiveness.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
• Maintain thorough documentation of cost accounting processes and procedures.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, such as production, procurement, and sales, to gather cost data and understand cost drivers.
• Provide financial insights and support to various departments as needed.
