The Role
Job Summary: The Core Team Technical Lead (CTTL) - Mechanical is responsible for performing in-field work area walkdowns, reviewing procedures and work instructions, assessing required materials and tools, and analyzing OEM manuals, prints, and drawings to identify necessary components. The role also includes evaluating support activities such as scaffolding, rigging/lifting, insulation, and painting. The CTTL ensures efficient scheduling strategies for refueling outages and provides technical support when needed. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-field work area walkdowns of mechanical systems, including: o Manual and remote-operated valves o Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps o Heat exchangers o Piping repairs/replacements o Fluid or charcoal filter changes o Minor turbine maintenance (preventative and corrective) o Review procedures and work instructions to ensure clarity and accuracy. o Assess and confirm materials and tools required for task completion. o Analyze OEM manuals, prints, and exploded view diagrams to identify necessary parts. o Identify and coordinate additional support activities (scaffolding, rigging/lifting, insulation, and painting). o Conduct schedule reviews to optimize work execution during refueling outages. o Provide technical support during refueling outages as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: o No direct supervisory responsibilities. Competencies: o Technical Expertise: SME in a specialized mechanical field (e.g., valves) with broad knowledge of related disciplines (e.g., pumps, heat exchangers). o Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving issues effectively. o Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively, valuing diverse perspectives and fostering a positive team environment. o Independence: Capable of independently handling work order walkdowns. o Quality Focus: Ensures accuracy, thoroughness, and continuous improvement. o Productivity: Meets efficiency standards and completes tasks on time. Physical Demands & Work Environment: o Frequent exposure to loud noise. o Regular standing, walking, bending, crouching, and climbing. o Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms for various tasks. o Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
Requirements
Qualifications: o Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. o Hands-on experience with tools and machinery used in mechanical maintenance. o Expertise in repairing various valves and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric). o Proficiency in reading safety rules, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure documents. o Strong communication skills for reporting and presenting technical information.
