To be the one-point of contact for all maternity patients, guiding and coordinating for them from the first antenatal consultation until delivery and thereafter facilitate neonatal and pediatric care. The incumbent must continuously liaise on behalf of maternity patients with the doctors, nurses, other administrative staff such (for e.g billing, insurance) to ensure comfortable and seamless patient experience. He/she will be functionally reporting respectively to Hospital Administration, Senior Manager - Operations & Strategy.
Responsibilities:
The maternity and child health coordinator will establish contact with all maternity patients during their first antenatal visit at the hospital to:
Introduce them to the services and facilities available at NMCRH DIP.
Take them on a tour of the hospital, especially the labor and delivery rooms.
If covered under insurance, counsel them on insurance related processes / maternity limits / copayments etc.
If cash-paying patients, share the hospital cash packages with the patients
As the patient's single-point of contact, she will attend to any service related concerns of the patient at any point of time during the antenatal period and at the time of the delivery, and liaise with the concerned departments to ensure resolution of all such concerns.
She will arrange for the patients to attend to the antenatal program (Mamacare) according to the trimester. The maternity coordinator will also liaise with the concerned staff to ensure the Mamacare program arrangements are done appropriately as per the schedule.
During the 3rd trimester, the maternity and child health coordinator will introduce the parents-to-be to the neonatologist so as to give them an understanding of the neonatology services.
During the 3rd trimester, the maternity coordinator will also introduce the circumcision packages to the parents when it is relevant and thereafter arrange for an introduction to the pediatric surgeon if required.
She will coordinate with the nursing supervisor to ensure prior allocation of rooms for planned induction or planned C-sections. She will also coordinate with the nursing supervisor to arrange rooms for patients arriving in spontaneous labor / emergency C-sections
She will visit all maternity patients on admission and attend to any concerns of the patient during the admission and liaise with the concerned departments to resolve them.
She will facilitate with the concerned departments for the discharge process of all maternity patients as well as the neonates.
Thereafter, she will ensure follow-up of the patients with the concerned Obstetrician and also ensure that the child follows through with the neonatology department and subsequently the pediatric department.
She is responsible therefore for all maternity patient feedback / complaints and will work in tandem with the concerned departments to make necessary process / service improvements.
She will operate the dedicated number for services and shall be available promptly to reply to the patients' queries in professional and effective manner.
She will escalate any challenges in the above responsibilities to the Hospital Administrator.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS
Preferably a college graduate in any medical discipline or graduation in any discipline with Hospital experience.
Proficient technology application skills; Basic MS Office ( Word, Excel & Power point) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills.
Must have an exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with diverse range of individuals, superior phone etiquette skills.
Patient focused, service oriented; patient & understanding.
Efficient organized skills, ability to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure while maintaining composure.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable, punctual, dependable and responsive.
Excellent command oral written English. Arabic language advantages/desirable but not essential.
