About the JobCo-ordinates maintenance and operations requirements to ensure optimum plant availability and to maximize plant operation efficiency, flexibility, reliability and safety.Key AccountabilitiesPlanning and Supervision
Reviews and advises on maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance and prepares operational inputs for routine and non-routine maintenance, planning schedules, and Turnaround.
Determines maintenance resource requirements and ensures availability as required.
Reviews the performance and maintenance costs for the Operations Department plant and equipment and ensures that technical assistance is provided for equipment problems when necessary.
Determines priorities for maintenance work and ensures that maintenance is completed before it becomes high priority.
Reviews reliability reports and coordinates requirements in liaison with Reliability Engineers.
Screens and approves all work requests to ensure they are clear and safe and that preliminary investigations have been undertaken to justify the request.
Confirms the priority of work requests and ensures equipment return dates are justified. Develops a periodic (i.e. two weeks) rolling plan and reviews and adjusts it on a daily basis.
Coordination
Coordinates with supervisors, managers and employees at all levels to ensure commonality of purpose and direction, ensuring coordination between shifts.
Coordinates the routine and non-routine maintenance requirements of the assigned Operations Department to optimize plant availability and operations, including mechanical (stationary and rotating), instrument and electrical equipment.
Communicates daily with the Maintenance, Turnaround, Integrity and Engineering and Process Assurance and Quality Departments regarding maintenance and inspection activities and schedules, and plant reliability issues.
Coordinates the Utilities Department Shut down and Start-up operation for Turnaround, or as required.
Liaises with the Maintenance Department to reduce maintenance activities that do not add value to the concerned Department operations.
Monitoring
Monitors work execution and provides guidance to ensure statutory and company guidelines and standards are followed.
Studies, evaluates and recommends proposals for plant modification or improvement, including the preparation of appropriate scheduling.
Reviews modifications requests and comments on the same at different stages.
Undertakes audits to ensure contractor compliance with company safety procedures.
Ensures that timely, accurate and regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment availability and permit requirements are prepared and submitted to the Operations Department Manager and other relevant personnel
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
At least 4 years experience in a major processing plant.
Familiar with international and UAE refinery industry standards and protocols.
Have knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationships with staff and contractors with a focus on collaboration.
Excellent organizational, management and planning skills
Strong decision making ability
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to engage in technical discussions
Leadership and training experience
Knowledge of business applications including MAXIMO
Good verbal knowledge and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
