Position Summary

The position is responsible for tracking and coordinating the progress of grants from inception to completion.

Job Responsibilities

Assists with identifying opportunities for extramural funding and supports the Principal Investigators (PI) throughout the grant application process. Coordinates with the faculty to resolve general administrative issues related to grant proposals in accordance with the proposed research plan. Utilizes established tools to assist with reviews of sponsor RFPs, grant proposals and progress reports. Tracks the lifecycle of grants/projects, including amendments, extensions, project transfers and formal acceptance notifications. Communicates and monitors deadlines related to grants to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Maintains records of changes to sponsor requirements and internal policies and procedures. Assists in reviewing and editing of post-award contractual agreements, grant sub-contracts, research agreements, data use and material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements. Disseminates information to sub-recipients of Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) in accordance with the Fund Management Agreement (FMA). Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree required

Experience

Bachelor's degree in administration, science or a related field with 6 - 7 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in healthcare or research is an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of research grants management preferred. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with fluency in English and Arabic (desirable). Proficient in MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF).
