Ensure only approved ingredients are used.
Plate and garnish dishes as per set presentation standards and portion control.
Notify Expediter / Servers / food runners of completed orders.
Follow sanitation guidelines and comply with all health, safety, food hygiene and employment legislation as trained.
To work towards high scores in all inspections and audits.
Make requisitions / purchase requests as per expected consumption levels.
De-box, label, store, and rotate food as per set rules and regulations, using FIFO.
Practice cost-cutting measures.
Process and manage food tickets.
Track food quality and ensure its up to the highest standard.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers.
Perform assigned opening, operational and closing procedures.
Co-operate with managers and supervisors and follow their direction.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent from a recognised School or Institution.
Training from a culinary school will be an asset.
Additional Information
Skills & Professional Requirements:
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
Knowledge of methods of preparing, cooking, and serving food.
Knowledge of uses of kitchen utensils and equipment and the operation thereof.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years similar experience from a casual dining environment.
Proven experience as Cook.
