Control System Engineer

About the Job

The role will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of PLC systems at our industrial sites. This role requires hands-on experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and integration with various industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement SCADA systems for industrial processes, primarily in Oil & Gas and tankage solutions.

Configure and program SCADA software applications to monitor and control processes, including data acquisition, visualization, alarms, and reporting.

Integrate SCADA systems with various industrial control systems, such as PLCs and RTUs, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define system architecture, and develop detailed specifications.

Perform system upgrades, modifications, and enhancements to meet changing operational needs and industry standards.

Exhibit strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex system issues and implement effective solutions.

Develop and manage documentation such as I/O lists, Modbus lists, FDS, FAT, SAT, etc.

Liaise with other engineers on the implementation of PLC and SCADA software.

Utilize PLC programming software for Allen Bradley, Siemens, and others.

Read, interpret, and make changes to control panel GA, wiring drawings, loop, and termination drawings regarding improvements and controls.

Assist in preparing automation and instrumentation-related designs, drawings, programming specifications, and SOPs.

Train clients on the use of applications once implemented.

Work on-site in the Oil & Gas environment to meet project deadlines. Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards, ensuring timely and successful project completion.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Requirements

At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in PLC solutions with Allen Bradley, Schneider, and Siemens.

Experience in control systems design, application, and safety-related aspects in Oil & Gas.

Proficiency in SCADA - FactoryTalk, WinCC.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

Familiarity with networks: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, RS-485, RS-232, Ethernet/IP, Profibus.

Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Database Manager.

Understanding of safety regulations and PTW procedures in Oil & Gas.

Excellent communication skills in business English, both written and verbal.

Preferably with a UAE Driver's License.
