  • Ability to dive into the details of non-contractual matters such as engineering, cost control, planning and construction.
  • Team player, yet able to work independently and duly manage his/her workload and priorities.
  • Fluency in English
  • Arabic is a must added value.
ActivitiesThe contract manage will be assigned to work closely with the Project Management Team (PMT) and Construction Teams, under the leadership of the Project Execution Manager.The Contract Manager has the following main activities:During project development phase:
  • Assist the Company Legal department to manage all contractual aspects of the GTIC (Grid Transmission and Interconnection Contract), including, final negotiation, final contract structure organization, notifications, formal communications, and commercial/contractual claims.
  • Assistance to the management of all contractual aspects of the PPC (Power Purchase Contract), including the finalization of the PPC schedule 13, notifications, formal communications, and commercial/contractual claims.
  • Support the legal team to prepare the Main EPC, the Owner Engineer and Independent consultant contracts, from the CFT to contract signature.
  • For the above-mentioned contracts, lead and manage the contractual process, and aspects, including Tender dossier preparation and launching, bid evaluation, clarifications, notifications, formal communications, and commercial/contractual claims.
  • Ensure the contract preparation planning is respected to meet the mains project milestones.
  • Establishes procedures for the bid evaluation, contract awarding selection and contracts administration.
During project execution phase:
  • In liaison with PPC, leads and manages all contractual aspects of the GTIC, EPC, Owner Engineer, Independent Consultant and all the other construction/services agreements, including notifications, formal communications, variation orders, commercial/contractual claims, negotiation of LDs and claims, risk assessments, etc. For that purpose, he/she must be fully aware of the Power Purchase Agreement, the EPC Contract, the Independent Engineering Service Agreement, the O&M Agreement, and the various Project Agreements and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts.
  • Is effective in responding to the correspondences from various counter parties and ensure the interests of TotalEnergies and the Owner Engineer Company are protected.
  • Ensures that the EPC contractor respect and act in line with its contractual responsibilities.
  • Evaluates the legitimacy of any claim and performs a regular review of the claim strategy with the PEM.
  • Actively and in coordination with Project control Manager, monitors the project progress in line with the contract schedule and ensure the parties adhere to the program.
  • Works closely with the Site Construction Management Team and Site Construction supervisors, and interfaces with senior management team, finance, and legal personnel to meet overall project deliverables.
  • Understands and prepares together with finance the invoicing procedure under the PPC and GTIC, when applicable, works closely with the independent consultant in the implementation of the Plant Accounting and Settlement System (billing system).
  • Monitors and manages the Company\'s various registration documents, certifications, construction permits, project related permits, and work actively to ensure timely renewals.
  • Formalizes the lessons learned and best practices during the execution of the project and supports the PEM in the restitution of such lessons learned at the end of the project.
  • Risk Mitigation: Include proactive measures for identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts to protect the Company.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mention strategies for resolving disputes or conflicts that may arise during contract execution in a timely and efficient manner.
Context & Environment
  • Accountable for effective management of project agreements and documents during the execution of the project, including successful negotiation of claims and variation orders.
  • Ensures coordination with all the areas and all the stakeholders of the project.
  • Based in Dubai, regular trips to the construction site and site-assignments of different durations.
  • Dynamic Project Environment: Describe the fast-paced nature of project management in the energy sector, emphasizing the need for adaptability and quick decision-making.
  • Project with international scope and with different team member and stakeholders\' origins, the contract Manager must demonstrate high cultural sensitivity and awareness when dealing with diverse stakeholders.
  • The position is based in Dubai, but demands flexibility to go to Basra, Iraq in mission whenever is required and spend the required time necessary to accomplish the mission scope of work.
