In this role you will support the Deloitte Consulting and engagement leadership on contract matters contract matters during the delivery of specific large-scale, high-risk engagements within the Public, Private or Financial Services sectors. These contracts are large-scale, complex, professional services consulting engagements, often incorporating a high degree of technology delivery - each with their own objectives and challenges requiring a professional hands-on approach to Contract Management.The successful candidate's key responsibilities include, among others:
Reviewing and monitoring contractual obligations of the parties to validate that these are met in line with terms and conditions
Working closely with engagement teams to propose and support creation of change orders, with a primary focus on ensuring timely and appropriate adjustments to contract schedule, price or other terms as circumstances and impact assessments dictate
Providing expert advice to engagement teams on contract management and contract compliance matters
Summarizing and communicating key contractual requirements and obligations
Developing and implementing contract management tools, templates, methods and processes for individual engagements and/or client accounts
Leading or providing support for subcontracting activities, working alongside engagement /technical lead, engaging Legal during negotiations as necessary and ensuring that all subcontracts include applicable prime contract flow down provisions
Creating Contract Summary Packs (CSPs), obligation trackers and other standard documentation for new and ongoing engagements
Annotating and adjusting templates such as SoWs, Change Orders
Providing training to the business and supporting Deloitte's overall delivery excellence program
Building a network throughout the delivery excellence functions across the member firms
Manage contract queries
Qualifications/RequirementsEssential
7+ years of relevant business experience in contract or commercial-related functions;
Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree from a reputable University in Law, Business Administration, or related disciplines;
Prior technology delivery / contracting experience in cloud engineering / systems engineering Contract management experience in complex professional services agreements;
Contract management experience in complex information technology (IT) consulting, IT outsourcing, and IT professional services projects;
Ability to evaluate risks associated with large professional services engagements;
Ability to articulate complex contractual details to a wider project teams and stakeholders;
Ability to review contract documents such as SoWs and CRs and provide redrafts and suggested wording to ensure that the obligations and commitments of both parties are clear, risks are understood, and deliverables are achievable;
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, deadline-driven environment;
Proven ability to manage a demanding workload effectively;
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously;
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
Direct client facing and/or subcontractor facing experience;
A track record of forging relationships with internal finance and legal teams and management stakeholders;
Experience in a consulting partnership or a similar large entrepreneurial business setting;
Project Management experience on large scale consulting/professional services engagements;
