: Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist / Consultant in Pediatric Hematology - Oncology to join our dynamic medical team. This position involves providing expert clinical care for children diagnosed with hematological and oncological disorders, including the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of pediatric cancer and blood disorders. The successful candidate will be a key player in multidisciplinary care teams, delivering high-quality patient care, engaging in academic activities, and contributing to research in the field of pediatric hematology-oncology.Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:Patient Care:
Provide expert clinical management for pediatric patients with hematological disorders, including anemias, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, and other blood-related conditions.
Diagnose and treat pediatric cancer patients, including leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, and other pediatric malignancies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplants, and supportive care.
Conduct regular patient follow-ups to assess treatment efficacy, monitor for complications, and provide long-term care as required.
Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, explaining diagnosis, treatment options, and potential outcomes.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, oncologists, hematologists, surgeons, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Participate in clinical tumor board meetings, providing expert input on complex cases.
Research & Education:
Engage in clinical and/or translational research to further the understanding and treatment of pediatric hematological and oncological conditions.
Supervise and mentor junior doctors, fellows, and medical students in clinical care, research, and academic activities.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in pediatric hematology-oncology, and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Present research findings at national and international conferences, and contribute to scientific publications.
Administrative Duties:
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards in the delivery of care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection regulations.
Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and ongoing education initiatives.
Qualifications: Qualifications:Education:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Specialist training in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (Fellowship or equivalent).
Board certification in Pediatric Hematology - Oncology (or equivalent).
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric hematology-oncology.
Proven track record in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric cancers and blood disorders.
Experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary cases and collaborating with healthcare teams.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills in pediatric hematology and oncology.
