This individual will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose and manage complex cases, as well as educate and support patients and their families on disease management.Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic tests to identify and confirm inherited metabolic disorders in pediatric patients- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with inherited metabolic disorders, considering their medical history, genetic makeup, and current symptoms- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to provide comprehensive care to patients, including nutritionists, geneticists, and pediatric pharmacists- Educate and counsel patients and their families on the nature of their disorder, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and researchers to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field of inherited metabolic disorders- Participate in medical conferences and symposiums to share expertise and knowledge with peers and contribute to the advancement of the field- Act as a resource for other healthcare professionals and trainee doctors, providing guidance and mentorship in the management of inherited metabolic disorders- Comply with all hospital policies and follow best practices to ensure the highest quality of care for patients- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and treatment plansRequirements:- Medical degree from an accredited university- Completed specialized training and certification in Pediatric Inherited Metabolic Medicine- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of inherited metabolic disorders in pediatric patients- In-depth knowledge of various inherited metabolic disorders, their diagnostic methods, and treatment options- Strong understanding of genetics, biochemistry, and nutrition as they relate to inherited metabolic disorders- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and their families, as well as healthcare team members- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to diagnose and manage complex cases- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals- Proven record of staying updated on the latest advancements and research in the field of inherited metabolic disorders- Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs as required by the hospital and regulatory authorities- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus- Must be western-trainedWorking Conditions:This position will be based in Dubai, UAE, and will require the Consultant Pediatric Inherited Metabolic Medicine to work in a hospital setting.
