:The primary role of a Neonatologist is to provide comprehensive medical care to newborn infants. This includes evaluating and treating newborns with various acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as providing ongoing care for infants who are at risk of developing complications. Neonatologists are responsible for diagnosing and managing a variety of birth-related issues, including prematurity, low birth weight, birth defects, and infections. They are also expected to consult with other healthcare professionals and provide pertinent information to parents and families.Responsibilities:
Perform examinations, tests, and consultations to diagnose and treat newborns with medical conditions
Monitor infant growth and development, as well as look for potential risks of complications
Provide medical advice and support to parents and families
Educate families about newborn care and risks
Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments and medications
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper care
Manage and document all neonatal medical records
Participate in research and clinical trials
Good problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Able to make critical decisions in an efficient and effective manner
Knowledge of current neonatal standards, practices, and protocols
Qualifications:
Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Neonatology or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
At least five (5) years of practice as a neonatologist.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. She must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice as a Specialist Neonatologist in Dubai, U.A.E.
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
