Job Description

:Job Overview:This position is for a Hook-Up & Commissioning HUC Field Engineer who will act as focal point offshore and coordinate all support vessel movements inside the offshore oil and gas field and into ports. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Construction Specialist (Fab) understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.Responsibilities:Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out the overall project inter-discipline coordination between members of the operations support groups throughout one or more project phases of detail design, fabrication, offshore installation, and hook-up
  • Carry out progress reporting on the project
  • Understand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedules
  • Review constructability and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive option
  • Conduct fabrication look-ahead meetings and prioritize material and drawings
  • Manage construction activities for piping and supervise pre-commissioning activities for oil & gas offshore projects
  • Build a clear communication network with all Superintendents and HUC Managers on construction barges charterer by McDermott Hook-up
  • Manage the movement of vessels between construction barges and ports
  • Gather all wish lists from each construction barge and draw up daily plans for efficient marine movements and material transfer
  • Attend Rig Move Meetings with ARAMCO marine to explain and obtain approval on all movements of construction barges inside the field
  • Assist the Principal Operations Engineer with preparations of jack-up barge set-up drawings
  • Assist the Marine Coordinators and port captains with proper marine assurance of the fleet
Qualifications:Essential Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/ civil/ marine engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Possess 5 years minimum experience in a relevant role
  • 2 years of experience in offshore construction, or shipbuilding of jack-up barges is essential
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
