Job Description

The MEP Construction Manager oversees the design, installation, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for construction projects. They coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the smooth execution of MEP work while adhering to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

Review MEP design and construction drawings to ensure project requirements are met. Prepare and maintain MEP work schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time. Coordinate with the general contractor, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper MEP integration with other trades.

Supervision and Team Management:

Lead a team of MEP supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors, providing guidance and support. Ensure effective communication among all team members involved in the MEP installation process. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.

Quality Control:

Oversee the quality and accuracy of MEP installation and ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and client requirements. Address and resolve issues related to MEP system installation or performance.

Budget and Resource Management:

Monitor MEP project costs, track expenditures, and ensure projects remain within budget. Manage procurement of MEP materials, tools, and equipment. Negotiate and manage contracts with MEP subcontractors.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulations. Conduct safety meetings and enforce safety practices on-site. Ensure compliance with all local building codes, environmental, and industry-specific regulations.

Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:

Proactively identify potential problems and work with the team to develop solutions. Address any delays, scope changes, or unforeseen issues, and make necessary adjustments.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular project status reports for management, highlighting progress, risks, and upcoming milestones. Maintain accurate records of project drawings, changes, and approvals.

Commissioning and Handover:

Coordinate the testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems to the client. Ensure that all MEP systems are functioning as per specifications before project completion.
