Job Description

The Construction Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. They manage construction teams, subcontractors, and resources, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, design specifications, and project milestones.Key Responsibilities:Project Management:
Lead the overall execution of construction projects, from initial planning through completion.
Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, and ensure adherence to these plans.
Oversee daily on-site activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor on-site teams, including site engineers, subcontractors, and construction personnel.
Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring effective communication between all project stakeholders.
Provide guidance and support to resolve on-site challenges, ensuring construction quality and efficiency.
Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, addressing any concerns or changes in scope.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all construction activities comply with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Approve and review construction modifications and material selections to ensure project alignment with design intent.
Ensure all documentation, including reports, safety records, and permits, are accurate and up-to-date.
Resource Management:
Oversee the allocation and utilization of on-site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and minimizing project overruns.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Safety and Risk Management:
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, promoting a culture of safety among all construction teams.
Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth operations.
Critical Competencies:Construction Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and on-site management, with the ability to oversee complex, large-scale projects.
Experience with multiple types of construction projects, including commercial, residential, and infrastructure.
Leadership & Team Management:
Proven ability to lead large teams, fostering a collaborative work environment and driving performance across on-site personnel.
Capable of mentoring and developing junior team members, including site engineers and supervisors.
Project Management:
Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Proficiency in using construction management software and tools, such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), to monitor progress and manage resources effectively.
Client Interaction & Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and build strong working relationships.
Experience in presenting project updates and solutions to stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and regulatory bodies.
Problem Solving & Adaptability:
Ability to anticipate and solve complex on-site challenges, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
Adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and environments, ensuring seamless project execution.
Attention to Detail & Quality Assurance:
Strong attention to detail in reviewing plans, on-site activities, and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of construction quality, with an emphasis on safety and long-term project success.
Reporting Structure:
The Construction Manager will report to the Project Director or Senior Project Manager, overseeing a team of site engineers, construction supervisors, and subcontractors.Education & Experience:
Education Level: Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction management, including large-scale projects, with a deep understanding of both technical and managerial aspects.
