Construction Manager (Aluminium Recycling Plant Construction) Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the construction of an aluminium recycling plant in Abu Dhabi, including a furnace requiring a deep excavation of 24 meters near a coastal area. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Construction Manager and have extensive experience in aluminium plant construction (or similar), specifically with deep pit excavations exceeding 24 meters, as well as expertise in cast house and furnace deployment, scrap processing, VDC pit operations and aluminium recycling processes. This experience is critical for supporting the project through its commissioning phase. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills. Roles and Responsibilities:
Contract length: 24 months Pay: Up to AED36,000.00 per month Application Deadline: 07/06/2024
- Lead and manage the construction of an aluminium recycling plant from inception to completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring adherence to all project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure the seamless integration of aluminium construction elements.
- Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure project goals are met.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage procurement of materials and resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Liaise with high-level stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, providing regular updates, and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work is progressing according to plan and meets the highest standards of quality.
- Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise, maintaining a focus on project timelines and budgets.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, financial status, and risk assessments.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline essential.
- Advanced degree / related industry qualification desirable.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 15 years in a senior or managerial role in aluminium plant construction projects or similar, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of this specialization.
- Must have deep pit experience (more than 24m depth), cast house, and furnaces deployment experience related to aluminium (or similar).
- Proven experience in managing plant construction projects involving aluminium, scrap processing, VDC pit operations, and recycling processes.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with high-level stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of construction professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable legal regulations in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex and unexpected issues.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Visa, medical insurance will be provided
- Fixed term contract - 24 months
- Must be available for interview in UAE and available to start June 2024
- Salary up to AED36,000 per month (including all allowances), depending on experience.
- Full-time, 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday)
