Job Description

Masdar is the UAE's clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges. Established in 2006, Masdar is today active in over 40 countries, helping them to achieve their clean energy objectives and advance sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and under this ownership the company is targeting a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tonnes by the same year.

As the Construction Director, you will manage the execution of the assigned projects, ensuring that all activities from design, permitting, procurement, construction, to commissioning, energization, testing and handover of the project achieving best-in-class levels of QHSE, business and manpower performance during all phases within budget, meeting stringent schedule, demonstrating innovation in technology definition, and coordinating complex interfaces. Responsibilities include: Lead and manage the planning, control and delivery of the assigned renewable energy project on behalf of Masdar, ensuring effective execution and delivery in compliance with key parameters related to quality, standards and time while overseeing cost, invoice management, procurement management, and others including delegation of authority to allow smooth project execution. Lead and manage the planning, control the de-commissioning of the plant and manage the re-construction of the plant. Oversee consultants, engineering, and contractors in carrying out the engineering design of the project, procuring all the equipment and materials necessary, and then constructing to deliver a functioning asset to the client. Provide assurance and support in the decision-making process on various planning, design, procurement, control, and execution issues including performance of sub-contractors, vendors, partners as well as claims, variations, and other measures as necessary. Inform the management and steering committee of any major project delays and identify critical issues and propose mitigation plans. Support in the development of projects in line with guidance and support from the steering committee. Lead the effective execution and delivery of projects in line with the approved business case, ensuring compliance with key project parameters. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics or related discipline. MBA or Master's degree in a technical discipline is preferred. PMC or Prince 2 certification will have added advantage. Preferred Experience: 10-15 years of experience within renewable energy, particularly PV Projects, preferably with local and global exposure, with roles focused on business development, and/or project management/governance.
