Unspecified Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect slide/raft composite components for wear, warping, cracks, and other damages.
• Repair of slide/raft composite fabrics & pack boards/compartments including resin injection, lay-up, curing processes and precision post-repair buffing and finishing.
• Fabricate replacement parts as needed using fiberglass, resin, and other composite materials.
• Knowledgeable in the use of structural glass, epoxy, vinyl-ester, and polyester resin systems.
• Place parts and materials requests per technical data, and maintain a clean work area and equipment.
• Perform assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing & disposition of various types of components as required to overhaul slides and life rafts along with folding and packing into composite pack board compartments.
• Follow quality procedures and technical documentation accurately.
• Comply with all rules and regulations of Collins Aerospace, including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance and Human Resources.
• Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
• Maintain high levels of quality and ethics while working as a team member, communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• When not repairing composites or overhauling slides, the candidate will be required to support other maintenance activities in Components Dept. including the AMS and Cargo business unit.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
• Knowledge of metal, alloys, composite materials, aircraft adhesives, and sealants.
• Knowledge of the use, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools.
• Sufficient physical strength and dexterity to manipulate composite replacement parts and pack slide/rafts.
• Ability to utilize computer systems (SAP, MS Office, Etc.) to input & retrieve information.
• Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
• Comply with EH&S policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE. Attend EH&S trainings as required.
• Report unsafe practices and/or conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
• Recommend improvements to EH&S practices in order to create a safer workplace.
• The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
• Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills (Strong written and verbal).
