Fabricate composite parts and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Prepare composite materials, including cutting, shaping, and laying up layers of fabric or pre-preg material.
Apply resins and adhesives to composite materials and components.
Use hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, sanders, and grinders, to trim, shape, and finish composite parts.
Perform quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Repair damaged or defective composite parts as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in composites preferred.
Proven experience working with composite materials in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
Strong knowledge of composite fabrication techniques, including layup, vacuum bagging, and curing processes.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools common to composite fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with composite repair techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of composite material testing and characterization methods.
