SUMMARY
As the Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Diagnostics in the Middle East you will be responsible for driving communications that help engage and inspire key external stakeholders primarily. As an expert in external communications/public affairs you will act as key coach and advisor for internal stakeholders across the enterprise and proactively position the company with external audiences. Reporting to the Head of Diagnostics Communications EMEA-LATAM, with a strong dotted-line to the General Manager for Roche Diagnostics in the Middle East, you will develop and execute communication strategies that engage key audiences, aligning with divisional, sub-regional and Group Communications priorities. In addition, you will work with regional Networks and Chapters to help shape a regional Communications & Public Affairs framework that translates business strategies in compelling messaging that engage and influence stakeholders.
To deliver on this, you rely on effective teamwork and collaboration within the broader Diagnostics and Pharma Communications community in the Middle East region and with regional/global teams.
Your Impact
• Plan and deliver integrated communications strategies, narratives and campaigns that engage and align external stakeholders primarily.
• Translate the business and Group Communications vision and strategy into relevant local projects and initiatives supported by careful planning and concrete measurements.
• Support the Middle East Region Head and leadership in developing communications strategies to engage audiences by aligning goals, and objectives to overall business priorities as an active member of the leadership team.
• Provide effective crisis and issues counsel and communications support
• Establish and maintain end-to-end integrated communication planning including measurement against objectives
• Stay abreast of internal and external developments, industry trends, as these pertain to Roche Diagnostics, transformation and 'new ways of working' priorities.
• Maintain broad-based knowledge of the organization and its operations; use knowledge of business and communications insights, metrics, expertise, and operating principles to effectively communicate complex topics to key stakeholders
Who You Are
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Public/Government Affairs or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience required
• You possess 8 to 10 years of experience in marketing, communications or related field in-house or in an agency; working in healthcare or a similar highly regulated industry
• You have outstanding strategic agility thorough grasp of the healthcare/diagnostics industry and regularly applies such to create robust and effective communications strategies
• You have demonstrated experience in integrated communications and / or Public Affairs program planning and execution
• You have experience in crisis/issues management
• You are experienced in dealing with regional, national and local, professional/trade associations, industry partners and other stakeholder organizations
• You have the ability to develop successful partnerships with senior executives
• You demonstrate successful track record of presenting to and working effectively with senior company executives and contributing to influencing their decision-making
• You have outstanding interpersonal and partnering skills: proven track record of building strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders and experience working effectively in a networked, matrix environment
• You are a Self-motivated person who is able to thrive in a non-hierarchical, self-organizing environment, where teams form around projects and initiatives
• You demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects; works well under pressure and tight deadlines and you also demonstrated enterprise mindset and system thinking, proven ability to work effectively across multiple global teams and key leadership areas in a fast paced VUCA environment
• You possess excellent storytelling skills
• You are fluent in English (verbal and written) and Arabic
