KBR is looking for Commissioning Manager to be based in- Abu Dhabi UAE Summary: The ideal candidate would be an experienced Engineer with formal qualifications and would have the following key skills:
  • To review, endorse, supervise, coordinate and manage the overall construction activities of the projects.
Duties Performed: Plans, directs, supervises & controls the activities of assigned personnel in the Commissioning Team and exercises the supervision function at the level established by the Management. Advise Maintenance, Engineering and other departments on complex technical matters. Manages the Commissioning Teams across functions and site, as well as external contractors, to deliver the project successfully to agree budget and timescale, ensuring all HSE requirements are adhered to. Plans, manages and coordinates all IGO project commissioning Team recruitment/ manning (Operations and Maintenance) as well as for post commissioning manning requirements. Coordinates with other IGO packages to prepare post commissioning operations Scenarios /overhaul philosophy/emergency requirements. Determines work priorities, approves alterations to shift crew, plans / reviews day to day project /commissioning activities in line with targets. Plans and prepares recruitment and directs IGO project comm1ss1oning Team manning (Operations and Maintenance).Also plans for post commissioning manning requirements. Reviews commissioning procedures/ P&ID, attends technical project technical review meetings (HAZOP/SIL, Design studies etc.); attends vendor workshop for acceptance tests and comments on shortfalls. Studies and analyses complex technical problems/constrains connected with the Plant operation/Maintenance including diagnosis of problem situation and recommends /approves / plans solutions. Ensures that spare parts and the required materials are ordered in accordance with planned maintenance schedules. Supervises periodic reviews as required by Procurement Division. Ensures all operating/maintenance/vendor documentations are handed over to the Company as per project requirements. Initiates, reviews and endorses amendments to: Permit to Works, Standing instructions, General Operating Procedures Operating Procedures and Maintenance Preparation Procedures Prepares and monitors Operations and Maintenance comm1ss1oning project budgets, performance and utilization and provides periodic reports for management. I) Contributes at meetings with Production, Engineering, I&Q, HSE, and Project Divisions for discussion of technical problems, HAZOP and other process studies. Develops/ proposes Plant modification/ changes and long term studies to increase efficiency, safety and reliability of Plant equipment. Responsible for developing and maintaining the start up schedule, controlling all costs associated with commissioning including labour and equipment and integrating activities with Engineering, construction and commissioning activities and deliverables. Co-ordinates with ADMA-OPCO / GASCO senior staff during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases to ensure achievement of targets. Ensure ADGAS interface response conditions and emergency response is set- by providing relevant Operation input & actions to be taken with ADMA-OPCO/GASCO. Utilizes his technical skills and depth of experience to identify potential risk in operation activities through risk assessment and advanced audits and other means to ensure HSE/PTW compliance and production losses are minimized. Assures the safety of personnel and assets by ensuring the compliance with the HSE regulations attends safety meetings, committee meetings, Management Safety Tours, Advanced Safety Audits, and operational audits to promote awareness of HSE rules/regulations by personnel & contractors and ensures strict adherence/compliance. Plans and controls the preparation and release of equipment, ensures work permit procedure is strictly complied and periodically reviews /audits the procedure to ensure that it is safe. Communicates and promotes team awareness to achieve Divisional KPl's and objectives. Identifies training and development of the Commissioning Team with emphasis on UAE Nationals. Monitors CAMS and other training and development programs within the area of activity. Performs the role and bears the responsibilities assigned to his position according to the provision of the Company HSEMS Manual. This position is essential to the Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS. Appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility are expected from the incumbent. Minimum Requirements: B. Sc in Engineering with experience in complex commissioning projects or equivalent. 15 years diverse experience in the plant operations / maintenance/commissioning activities in the oil and gas industry with minimum 5 years at Managerial level. Excellent functional knowledge and experience of all areas of plant commissioning, operations and /or maintenance technology. Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to achieve business and project results. Ability to develop and implement a detailed and integrated start up process and plan. Ability to communicate and interact with employees at all working and management levels. Proficient in MS Office suite, project software programs and scheduling software.
