Job Description

What you will do:



Food Preparation & Cooking:



Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping, peeling, and measuring for dishes.

Follow recipes and instructions to prepare, cook, and present food items in the correct manner.

Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards, meeting both taste and presentation requirements.

Support the preparation of mise en place (all necessary ingredients and preparations) for the team.

Section Specific Duties:



Work in different kitchen sections (e.g., hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry) as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

Learn and master cooking techniques in each section, while adhering to the specific needs and standards for each.

Ensure that each dish is cooked in a timely manner and delivered to the highest standards of quality.

Hygiene & Safety:



Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in your work area.

Ensure that food safety standards are strictly followed, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food.

Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils after use, and maintain overall cleanliness in all kitchen areas.

Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of knives, heat sources, and other kitchen equipment.

Assisting Senior Kitchen Staff:



Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily tasks, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Learn and implement new cooking techniques and plating styles from senior kitchen staff.

Help with stocking ingredients, ensuring that the kitchen has all necessary items for service.

Assist in inventory management and report any shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

Time Management & Efficiency:



Work efficiently to meet the demands of the kitchen, ensuring that food preparation and cooking tasks are completed on time.

Support the kitchen team during busy periods, assisting with multiple tasks at once to ensure smooth service.

Ensure all dishes are prepared on time and to the correct specifications to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Required Qualification:



Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management Or Equivalent Degree

Minimum 6 months to one year of experience
