The intern assists senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and hygiene. This role is designed for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to learn the fundamentals of kitchen operations in a hotel environment.
Assist in the basic preparation of ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and marinating.
Help in the preparation of simple dishes, salads, and sauces as directed by senior chefs.
Learn and follow standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
Assist in cooking tasks as directed, including grilling, frying, and baking.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of cooking stations and equipment during service.
Ensure that all food items are cooked and presented according to the hotel\'s standards.
Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring that items are correctly labeled and stored.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses to senior chefs.
Assist in minimizing food wastage through proper portion control and storage practices.
Take advantage of training opportunities provided by senior chefs to improve culinary skills.
Show initiative in learning new techniques and recipes, and ask questions when necessary.
Participate in kitchen meetings and briefings to stay informed about menu changes and kitchen operations.
