The Commis III is an entry-level role in the kitchen, responsible for assisting in basic food preparation and performing simple cooking tasks under the supervision of senior chefs. This position is ideal for individuals who are new to the culinary field and are eager to start their career in a professional kitchen.

Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other food items. Perform basic cooking tasks such as boiling, frying, and steaming under supervision. Prepare mise en place (ingredients and tools) for different sections of the kitchen. Assist Commis I, Commis II, and other senior kitchen staff with their daily tasks. Carry out assigned duties in various sections of the kitchen, such as the pantry, hot section, or cold section. Follow instructions closely to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Participate in the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas. Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, following the kitchen's waste management procedures. Help with the receiving and storage of food deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly and labeled. Assist in the preparation and plating of dishes during service times, ensuring consistency and quality. Support the kitchen team during busy periods, being flexible and responsive to the needs of the kitchen. Show eagerness to learn new skills and techniques from senior chefs. Participate in any training or workshops provided by the hotel. Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward self-improvement and skill development. Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report any shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients, following the first-in, first-out (FIFO) principle. Assist in counting and organizing stock during inventory checks. Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Communicate any issues or concerns to senior chefs promptly. Contribute to a positive working environment by being cooperative and supportive of colleagues. Desired Skill & Expertise

No previous experience is required, but any prior experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is a plus. Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an advantage. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during busy periods. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
