COMMI I

Our client, a family of unique food concepts that are built on sustainability and delicate culinary excellence who operate premium international brands including FERDI, Philippe Chow, Beef Bar, Novikov, and more, apart from amazing local brands well known for their authenticity and original Kuwaiti taste, is looking for a highly skilled and passionate First Commi to join our client.. As a First Commi, you will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen operations. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of high-quality dishes using a variety of cooking techniques and methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations.

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to the required standard.

Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and served at the correct temperature. Manage and maintain kitchen equipment and ensure that it is kept clean and in good working order.

Monitor and control food waste and kitchen expenses.

Follow all health and safety guidelines and food hygiene regulations.

Assist with the creation of new menu items and specials.

Train and mentor junior members of the kitchen team.

Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure that guests receive a high-quality dining experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Commi or a similar role in a high end dining establishment.

Have a passion for food and a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

A flexible and adaptable approach to work.

A positive and professional attitude with good English.

A degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
