Position Overview:

As a Commi Chef, you will play an essential role in assisting with food preparation and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. You will work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with the preparation of high-quality dishes, following recipes, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with the restaurant's standards and menu specifications. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and prepared to the highest quality. Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper food handling and storage. Support senior chefs in creating new dishes and menus, contributing ideas where appropriate. Assist in the plating and presentation of food in line with the restaurant's standards. Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper usage. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely delivery of orders. Assist in stock management, including receiving deliveries and inventory control.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Commi Chef or in a similar kitchen role (or training in culinary arts). Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. Strong passion for cooking and a desire to develop culinary skills. Ability to work well in a team and take direction. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary diploma or certification is a plus, but not required. Previous experience in a fine-dining or fast-paced environment is an advantage.
