Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The Commis Chef will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet the standards set by the Head Chef and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation

: Assist in preparing ingredients, chopping vegetables, and assisting with mise en place (preparing food for cooking).

Cooking

: Help in cooking food items according to recipes and standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.

Cleaning

: Ensure that the kitchen and work areas are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.

Food Storage

: Store food items according to safety standards, including proper labeling, temperature control, and shelf life.

Assisting Senior Chefs

: Work closely with the senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations, following instructions as needed.

Inventory Management

: Help with stock checks and reporting any shortages or issues with supplies.

Health & Safety Compliance

: Maintain cleanliness, adhere to food hygiene regulations, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Teamwork

: Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality service.

Skills & Qualifications:

Previous Experience

: At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment (preferably in a hotel or restaurant).

Knowledge

: Basic understanding of kitchen equipment, food safety standards, and cooking techniques.

Communication

: Ability to communicate effectively within the team and with customers if needed.

Physical Stamina

: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.

Passion for Food

: A keen interest in food and cooking with a desire to learn and develop culinary skills.

Education

: Culinary training or relevant qualification is an advantage, but not always required.

Pay: AED2,200.00 - AED2,700.00 per month
