We are looking for passionate and hardworking Commis Chefs at various levels (Commis 1, 2, and 3) to join our talented kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General Duties:
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food is stored correctly and safely in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Participate in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
• Assist in the receiving and proper storage of deliveries.
• Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste.
Commis 1:
• Take on more complex and challenging tasks as delegated by the senior chefs.
• Assist in the training and supervision of Commis 2 and 3.
• Take responsibility for specific sections of the kitchen as assigned.
• Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.
Commis 2:
• Support Commis 1 and senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
• Perform cooking tasks such as grilling, sauteing, and frying with increasing independence.
• Contribute to the development of new menu items and specials.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Commis 3:
• Perform basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and washing ingredients.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Learn and develop culinary skills and techniques.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment preferred.
• Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Culinary school education or equivalent training is a plus.
