Kitchen Commis are novice chefs who work to support a chef de partie in a commercial kitchen. They perform cooking, cleaning, delivery and other support duties as instructed by the chef de partie. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Accurately measuring meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie \xc2\xb7 Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits \xc2\xb7 Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie \xc2\xb7 Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality \xc2\xb7 Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies \xc2\xb7 Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers. Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that work stations are properly sanitized \xc2\xb7 Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef de Parties instructions MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: \xc2\xb7 High school diploma is desirable, not necessary. \xc2\xb7 Certification in Culinary Arts will be an added advantage. \xc2\xb7 Minimum 2 years, proven commercial kitchen experience in UAE/GCC. \xc2\xb7 Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations. \xc2\xb7 The ability to stand for extended periods. \xc2\xb7 The ability to work under pressure. \xc2\xb7 Excellent organizational skills. \xc2\xb7 Effective communication skills. Job Type: Full-time Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
