Job Summary

We are looking for Commis 2, who will be responsible for preparing and assisting the Chef de Partie or Head Chef with tasks related to meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, and safety and sanitation. You have to ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service and company operational standards and then ensure all stations are clean. To be successful in this role, you need to be determined and your ability to support the kitchen's efficiency and safety without compromising the quality of the meals produced.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare an adequate level of mise-en-place based on business levels
• Follow the company policies/ procedures and food hygiene policies
• Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control
• Ensure all the stocks are well-maintained
• Acquaint and familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe the safety precautions when handling them
• Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
• Ensure proper use and cleaning of equipment to prolong the use and prevent damage
• Inform F&B service staff of available items and available chef's special menu
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
• Test food to ensure proper preparation and temperature
• Work according to the menu specifications by the Head Chef
• Adhere to all rules and regulations set by the management
• Practice economy where food, paper supplies, electricity and water are concerned
• Maintain a professional and friendly attitude towards guests during contact
• Need to be flexible and willing to help other businesses at busy times as and when required

Requirements:

• Willingness to learn new skills, great attention to detail
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Food Safety & Hygiene Certification
• High school education or a diploma in culinary is required
• Self-motivated, positive team player
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Ability to move and lift to 25 lbs
