About the job Commercial ManagerGeneral Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains systems for Design Consultant covering the areas of budgeting, cost control, estimating and reporting.
Reviews the various activities of construction projects with regard to variations and submission for Management approvals.
Ensures that the requirements with regard to cost estimating and cost control for variations are incorporated in the tender specification documents.
Reviews the cost estimates submitted by Consultant / Contractor and ensures compliance with Agreement, Contract drawings and Specifications as well as accuracy of Company requirements.
Reviews the Bill of Quantities prepared by Design Consultants and Contractors and ensure that they are in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Verifies project control budgets and updates them as required for Management approval.
Prepares and reviews the forecasts for the final project costs including variations, considering the commitments.
Prepares and updates cost data to review the cost estimates submitted by Design Consultant.
Reviews final cost reports, assets registers and project close out reports for compliance with Contract requirements.
Reviews and certified progress payments in coordination with the project team.
Reviews Change Requests, Contract Trend Notices, Variation Orders etc.
Interact with the Client representatives the Project Management Consultant and relevant Contractors in respect of all commercial matters.
Assist in the drafting of commercial terms for design engineering and/or construction services for approval by the Project Director.
Facilitate the preparation of Contract change and prepares the relevant variation orders.
Assist on all contractual matters.
Assist in the review of Contractor\'s claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and ensures the Client\'s interests are protected.
Ensure all warranties bonds insurances guarantees etc. are in place and maintained and updated in accordance with the Contract and are in compliance with the Clients requirements.
Assist in the preparation of Monthly Progress Reports
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Engineer\'s Instructions Variation Orders and Claim Logs
Attends Commercial Meetings and records minutes of meetings.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor\'s Degree in in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 20 years\' experience with strong international experience.
Membership to RICS, CIOB or equivalent is desirable.
Strong background and understanding of FIDIC forms of Contract particularly design & build.
Knowledgeable in all contractual & legal matters relevant to the industry including claim management.
