Job Summary and Purpose
Provide oversight and due diligence inspection of all cryogenic equipment during the construction of LNG / LPGLPG vessels built at the selected shipbuilding site for the Nakilat newbuilding programs. Attend scheduled inspections, commissioning(s), tests, demonstrations, and trials in accordance with the shipbuilder's published schedule for these items as assigned in his scope of work.
Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities: Conduct regular inspections of the shipbuilding production of the vessel(s) under construction at the shipbuilding site. With specific focus to hull protection matters such as steel surface preparation, coatings applications, film thickness gauging, fitting of corrosion reducing appliances such as ICCP and zinc anodes, and other related items as assigned by the Site Lead. Ensure that the shipbuilder's efforts fully meet the expectations of the shareholders and are in accordance with the Shipbuilding Contract Agreement, specifications, approved plans, and the various memorandums of agreement. Attend to all scheduled inspections, tests, demonstrations, and trials in accordance with the shipbuilder's published schedule and as assigned in the scope of work. Coordinate inspections with other Inspectors as may be required. Ensure that all shareholder SHES policies are fully implemented and adhered to and bring all areas of concern to the immediate attention of the Safety Coordinator and the Site Team Manager. Coordinate work to bring each vessel into service for timely delivery.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures: Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Others: Carry out any other related duties as directed by Coating Lead to support the shipbuilding initiatives and projects.
Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
Qualifications: Diploma in Marine Engineering (QCF) - Coating pathway/Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering Coatings Inspector Certification would be an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in the coating supervision of large vessels, including at least two (2) years of direct shipbuilding experience involved with coatings inspection issues during the construction of LNG carriers, or equivalent experience. Experience with coating manufacturer for at least five (5) years or Deck Officer's License with over five (5) years of dry-docking experience in charge of coating applications. Comprehensive knowledge of the ship design and construction business.
Job Specific Skills: Good written and spoken English language skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, to be used when dealing with individuals of various levels of authority and of diverse cultural backgrounds. Above average leadership and problem-solving skills when faced with complex ship construction issues. Proficient in the use of word processor and spreadsheet software (especially Microsoft Word and Excel), including the ability to prepare periodical status reports.
