The First Collection echoes the citys heartbeat, ensuring all our guests are made to feel a part of the magnificent tapestry of Dubai, the worlds most exciting metropolis.The Cluster Director of Engineering will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational effectiveness of all engineering systems across multiple hotel properties within the cluster. This role is responsible for leading the engineering teams, ensuring all safety and compliance standards are met, managing preventive maintenance programs, and delivering cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of guest experience.Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Provide direction and leadership to the engineering teams across multiple hotel properties within the cluster.
Recruit, train, and develop engineering talent, ensuring high performance and engagement.
Foster a collaborative, results-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure that all engineering operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, are functioning effectively and efficiently.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all properties to ensure equipment longevity and minimize operational downtime.
Conduct regular property inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, brand standards, and regulatory requirements.
Respond promptly to hotel emergencies, including equipment failures or guest-related issues, with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Manage and monitor the engineering budget, ensuring effective cost control without compromising on the quality of services provided.
Oversee procurement for engineering supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to approved budget limits.
Identify energy-saving initiatives and implement sustainability programs to reduce operational costs.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including fire safety, electrical standards, and building codes.
Implement and enforce health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure adherence to service agreements and performance standards.
Project Management:
Lead and manage capital improvement projects, renovations, and facility upgrades across properties.
Collaborate with General Managers, property teams, and corporate leadership to identify areas for property improvement and execute engineering projects.
Desired Skill & Expertise
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Advanced certification or professional engineering accreditation (PE) is preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in hotel engineering, including multi-property oversight.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of engineering systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration in a hospitality setting.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of managing complex projects and operational challenges.
In-depth knowledge of local safety, fire, and building codes and regulations.
Budget management and financial planning experience.
