Overview:
The Clinic and Pharmacy IT Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems within both the clinic and pharmacy environments. They provide technical support to clinic and pharmacy staff, ensuring that all IT-related issues are resolved promptly to maintain the continuity of patient care and business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of both clinical and pharmaceutical workflows, as well as strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to clinic and pharmacy staff for all IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruptions to patient care and pharmacy operations.
• Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanners, and other hardware devices used within the clinic and pharmacy. Perform routine maintenance and repairs as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
• Software Management: Install, update, and maintain software applications used within the clinic and pharmacy, including electronic medical record (EMR) systems, pharmacy management systems, and inventory management software. Ensure that all software is up-to-date and properly licensed.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect clinic and pharmacy IT systems from viruses, malware, and unauthorized access. Monitor network activity and conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
• Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain backup procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of clinic and pharmacy data. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss in the event of a system failure or security breach.
• User Training: Provide training to clinic and pharmacy staff on the use of IT systems and software applications. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure that staff are proficient in using IT tools to support their work.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, including hardware inventory, software licenses, network configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Keep documentation up-to-date and accessible to clinic and pharmacy staff as needed.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers to procure hardware, software, and IT services for the clinic and pharmacy. Manage vendor relationships and ensure that products and services meet the clinic's and pharmacy's needs and standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in IT support, preferably in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and security systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinic and pharmacy staff at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on providing efficient and effective solutions.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, pharmacy management systems, and other healthcare IT applications preferred.
