POSITION TYPE: Full-time 2 years contractOur client is seeking a Registrar, who can work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Cologne on supporting registrar workflows for collections and the inaugural exhibition of the Museum. Key responsibilities include working with the collection database, coordinating art movement and installation of artworks, and liaising with curators and collection care staff the Museum.SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in registration, with experience in loans, collections, and exhibitions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, with strong attention to detail.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent attention to detail with ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment a must.
Ability to be proactive, use independent judgment and initiative.
Willing to travel internationally, sometimes for extended periods.
Strong computer skills and fluency in collection management databases are
required, with specific expertise in Excel, Axiell\xe2\x80\x99s Electronic Museum (\xe2\x80\x9cEMu\xe2\x80\x9d), and The Museum System (\xe2\x80\x9cTMS\xe2\x80\x9d) strongly preferred. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development and standardization of the collection database.
Assist in the acquisition process pre and post-acquisition and that all documentation is prepared and received post acquisition.
Work with Registrar, Curatorial, and Conservation colleagues in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Cologne to reconcile collection information in multiple locations.
Circulate information on the collection as needed to staff and contractors.
Review generated contracts, liaising with Curatorial, Exhibition Management, and Legal departments as necessary, and negotiate terms with lenders as appropriate.
Support in receiving and releasing New York works of art and generate accompanying paperwork.
Support in handling, packing and unpacking, record packing notes, and conduct condition examinations in consultation with Conservation department for artworks departing and arriving in Abu Dhabi.
Assist in installations and courier trips, as needed.
As part of the Exhibition Management team, the Senior Registrar Abu Dhabi Project will work on special projects as needed.
WORK DEMANDS and ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to travel globally as required to perform above duties. Possibly for extended periods.
Foreign language skills a plus. Candidates with language skills and working knowledge of the UAE will be considered strong candidates.
