JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The incumbent will be responsible to ensure that that the site assigned is clean and to the satisfaction of the customer by efficiently and effectively managing the entire team to achieve the desired goal within the defined policies and procedures.
The incumbent will supervise work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in the buildings, hospitals, educational institutions, and similar establishments. Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action. Put forward request of housekeeping supplies and equipment and take periodic inventories.
The incumbent is responsible to organize employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for tidiness.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
• Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
• Obtains list areas to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
• Coordinates work activities among departments.
• Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
• Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
• Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
• Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
• Prepares reports concerning issues in the site, time and attendance of team members, department expenses.
• Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
• Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
• Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and client complaints.
• Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
• Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
• Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports.
QUALIFICIATON
• Diploma in hospitality or any related field.
• Good command of the English language both verbal and written. Knowledge of Arabic and other languages desirable.
• Must possess a valid UAE driver's license desirable but not preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
• Must have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multitask work in a strong-paced environment.
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
• Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines.
EXPERIENCE
• Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a facilities management or hospitality industry
