Job Description

Job Brief The Claims - Delay Analyst is a critical member of the Program Controls & PMO department within the CP&C Division. The role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and managing project delays and claims for executed projects. This includes monitoring project timelines, conducting delay analyses, preparing reports, and assisting with claims resolution to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. Collaboration with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders is essential to document, assess, and address delays effectively.


Responsibilities Delay Analysis and Management • Conduct detailed project schedule analysis to identify delays and their impacts on milestones and timelines.
• Implement delay analysis methodologies such as Critical Path Method (CPM), time-impact analysis, and windows analysis.
• Assess causes of delays, including contractor delays, external factors, and design changes, determining their impact on project completion.
• Provide recommendations to mitigate delays and minimize disruptions.
• Prepare delay analysis reports, including cause-effect analysis, proposed resolutions, and impact assessments for stakeholders.

Claims Management • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and managing claims related to delays, disruptions, and associated costs.
• Analyze claims submitted by contractors for adequate documentation and justifications.
• Collaborate with legal, procurement, and contract management teams to assess claim validity and input into the resolution process.
• Support claim negotiations and settlements, safeguarding the company's interests.
• Ensure claims are documented, tracked, and resolved per contract terms and legal requirements.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to address delays and claims promptly.
• Work with external stakeholders, including consultants and legal teams, to resolve claims cost-effectively.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management on delays, claims, and their impact on schedules and budgets.

Program Controls Support • Support Program Controls by integrating delay analysis and claims data into performance tracking systems.
• Assist in developing project schedules, identifying delays early, and ensuring timely interventions.
• Track progress against baseline schedules and analyze deviations.

Contractual and Legal Compliance • Ensure compliance with contract terms, local regulations, and industry best practices in delay analysis and claims management.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting • Monitor the effectiveness of delay mitigation strategies and report on their success.
• Provide regular updates on risks, claims, and delays that could impact project schedules or budgets.

Requirements and Skills Competencies • Strong understanding of project management principles, construction contracts, and delay analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in project scheduling software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify delays, determine impacts, and develop solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Solid knowledge of construction contracts, claims management, and legal procedures related to delays.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.
• Expertise in delay analysis software, project scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.

Education and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree or certifications like PMI, AACE preferred).

Experience • At least 4 years of experience in construction claims, delay analysis, or program controls, focusing on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in delay analysis and managing claims in complex, multidisciplinary developments.
