As a Construction Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The role will involve overseeing all aspects of engineering on-site and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth project progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
Collaborate with the project team to develop detailed construction schedules and budgets.
Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work plans.
Coordinate between internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure all tasks are aligned.
On-site Management:
Supervise day-to-day site activities, ensuring that the project is being executed according to the agreed schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards specific to UAE.
Troubleshoot and resolve any engineering or construction issues that arise during the execution phase.
Quality Assurance & Control:
Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is being carried out according to design specifications and quality standards.
Monitor work progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
Ensure adherence to the project's safety standards and environmental requirements.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
Monitor and control project costs to prevent budget overruns.
Assist with cost estimation and resource allocation for the project.
Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services while ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, including any delays or risks, to the Project Manager.
Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, materials used, and workforce progress.
Ensure all required permits and certifications are obtained and kept up to date.
Client & Stakeholder Interaction:
Act as the point of contact for clients, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding project progress and technical issues.
Address client concerns and provide timely solutions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Master's degree or additional certifications in project management is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction engineering, with at least 2 years in a project engineering role in the UAE or Gulf region.
Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of UAE construction laws, safety standards, and regulations.
Excellent knowledge of construction processes, project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), and budgeting tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Other:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
