The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning & Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Prepare detailed project schedules, including resource allocation, timelines, and milestones.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, procurement, construction, quality assurance) to ensure project progress.
• Technical Support & Design Oversight:
• Provide technical input and support for project designs and engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company specifications, and client requirements.
• Review and validate engineering documents, drawings, and plans.
• Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Resolve engineering issues and challenges that arise during project execution.
• Ensure that quality control measures are implemented and maintained throughout the project.
• Resource & Budget Management:
• Assist in preparing project budgets and track project costs against the budget.
• Manage resource allocation and ensure proper staffing for project tasks.
• Monitor procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Provide regular progress reports and updates to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication across all project phases.
• Health, Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with company safety policies and regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety within the project team.
• Support audits and inspections to verify compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, or a related field).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
• Experience:
• 2-5 years of experience in project engineering or a related field.
• Experience in managing technical projects, ideally within [industry sector, e.g., construction, manufacturing, energy, etc.].
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and project management practices.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
• Solid understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Problem-solving ability with a focus on timely and cost-effective solutions.
• Other Requirements:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
