Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Civil Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, and other materials. The Civil Mason will work closely with other construction professionals to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Masonry Work:

Lay bricks, blocks, and stone according to specifications and blueprints. Construct and repair walls, chimneys, and other structures. Finish surfaces, including applying plaster or stucco as required.

Site Preparation:

Prepare and clean work areas, ensuring a safe and organized job site. Measure and cut materials to the required sizes and shapes.

Quality Control:

Ensure all work is performed to high-quality standards and meets local building codes. Conduct inspections of completed work to identify any defects or issues.

Collaboration:

Work alongside other tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.) to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow. Communicate effectively with site supervisors and project managers regarding project progress and any challenges encountered.

Maintenance and Repair:

Perform routine maintenance on masonry structures, identifying and addressing wear and damage. Respond to repair requests in a timely manner.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on the job site. Use protective equipment and tools as required to minimize risks.
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a masonry apprenticeship program is preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience as a Mason in residential or commercial construction; familiarity with various masonry materials and techniques.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of masonry tools, techniques, and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Good physical stamina and strength; ability to lift heavy materials. Attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position may require working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces may be necessary. The role may involve standing for long periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
